Leigh Thomas named Director of BJHS Bands
Last week, the Madison City Board of Education named Leigh Thomas Director of BJHS Bands. Thomas joined BJHS for the 2012-13 school year as assistant-director of the Marching Band and director of Percussion, Indoor Drumline, and Concert Band.
The Assistant Band Director position has been posted on the state education website. Interviews will be held in the next week or two and we should have a new assistant director by the beginning of July.
The board also approved Mrs. Jenney Merritt as Band Director at Discovery Middle School.
Rookie Band Camp schedule
Rookie camp is ONLY for new members in marching band. If you are only participating in concert band, you do NOT need to come to rookie camp.
Dates:
- Wednesday, May 27 (8am-12pm)
- Thursday, May 28 (8am-5pm) – Bring a lunch this day. You will not be leaving campus until 5pm.
- Friday, May 29 (8am-12pm)
BJHS Color Guard Camp June 22-25
The Bob Jones High School Color Guard Camp will be held Monday through Thursday, June 22-25, 2015 at the Bob Jones High School small gym. Bob Jones High School band staff, color guard staff and some high school color guard members will be conducting the camp.
- Dates: June 22, 23, 24, 25
- Grades: 4-9 (Fall 2015)
- Time: 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Cost: $75 (Includes t-shirt)
