Concessions
Running the concessions stands for the football games is one of our biggest fundraisers, but also requires the most volunteers. Be sure to help out, and remember, you get credit of up to $100 for working twice!
Hospitality
Throughout the year, Hospitality relies on parent support to help feed students, judges, teachers and sometimes chaperones. Depending upon the event, parents are asked for either donation of food items and/or help preparing the food items. Hospitality needs will be posted on CHARMS as they arise. An e-mail will also be sent from Hospitality when volunteers are needed. Volunteers should sign-up on CHARMS to indicate where they intend to help. If you are having trouble with CHARMS and want to help hospitality, please send an e-mail to: bjhsbands+hospitality@gmail.com
Uniforms
The Uniform Committee ensures that our band always looks their best! They often need help, especially at the start of the year during uniform fitting and distribution.
Chaperones
Every band activity away from the school requires a number of chaperones to help the students. This is a great chance to work directly with a wonderful group of kids! Full details are at https://bjhsband.com/parent-info/volunteer-opportunities/chaperone/.
Logistics
The Logistics Committee ensures that all equipment gets to where it needs to be for every performance. They provide truck drivers and parents to help with loading and unloading. The students actually do most of the loading and unloading, but the logistics crew does all the driving and managing of the trucks and trailers, as well as helping with drum major podiums and other equipment at performance venues. The Logistics Committee is also responsible for maintenance of band instruments, equipment, props, and our trailers.
