Band Camp Chaperones
When the students are on the field during band camp, the band boosters host a comfort and aid station under a canopy on the field. If the kids become overheated or are otherwise not feeling well, they may come to the tent for aid. We ask for two chaperones and a nurse to staff the tent. Chairs, supplies and instructions will be provided.
Please take a look at the volunteer schedule and sign-up for a time that works best for your family. There are some blocks that are particular to a certain group ex. Winds, Guard, Competition.
If you have any questions during band camp, please come to the tent and ask for me, Kathy McDaniel.
Football Games and Competitions
More information will be provided at a later time about when and how to sign-up to chaperone football games and competitions. The schedule may be found HERE. Many of the dates fill up quickly, so I encourage you to know which dates are of interest to you and sign-up when registration for chaperones is opened. I will keep a stand-by list. If you see that event is full, please email me with a request to be added to the list for your desired date.
We do ask that competition chaperones have prior experience chaperoning the band, so please choose a football game before the competition date that you would like to volunteer for.
Background Check and Code-of-Conduct Form
To help guard the safety of our students, Madison City Schools asks for volunteers to submit to a background check conducted by Secure Volunteer. It only takes a few minutes to complete the process. Secure Volunteer will send an email to you stating that they have received your background check application, please forward that email to me. When you receive your ID Card in the app, please send a screenshot of the card to Erin Kramer.
The Code-of-Conduct Form will be provided during band camp and on an as needed basis during the band season. It outlines the conduct that is expected from our band volunteers.
