Dear Parents and Students,

Yes, marching season is over, but there is still a lot to do!

Our November Booster meeting will be this Thursday, the 13th, at 7:00 in the band room. We are very thankful for all of you who have volunteered during the past few months of marching season. We would like to take the time to thank and honor all of those who have given of their time to make our band program successful. We will be having cake and coffee after the meeting.

New spirit wear will be available for sale at the Booster meeting.

And wait, there’s more!……We will be taking preorders for a DVD of March on Madison. They are $5.

On December 12th we have the opportunity to play the National Anthem and stand tunes at the Huntsville Havoc game. Before we commit to this we need to make sure that we will have a good representation. It is not mandatory but we cannot go if only tubas and piccolos show up. Mr. Thornton or Ms. Thomas will be asking the students if they are interested and to sign up. Students and parents are responsible for getting to and from the VBC with their instruments.

The deadline for ordering pictures is THIS FRIDAY.

Hi everyone!

If you haven’t had a chance to purchase spirit wear yet, it will be available Thursday afternoon beginning about 4:30, during and after rehearsal. Come in to do your own shopping or make sure your children have money if they’re wanting to make purchases on their own.

Some of you have asked about decals. They should be in tomorrow, so we will have them available Thursday as well.

Tomorrow is the big day!

It will be a cold day. According to the Weather Channel at performance time, 6:00pm, it will be 44 degrees with a feels like temperature of 37 degrees and partly cloudy with some wind. By 9:00pm it will be 38 degrees with a feels like temperature of 33 degrees and clear with some wind.

DRESS WARM AND IN LAYERS! After the performance the kids will change into jerseys and jeans and layer over that. Bring coats, gloves, hats, ear warmers, blanket, etc.

Remember to bring money for dinner. If you preordered a dinner, we will pick that up at 7:00. A chaperone or myself will go with the kids to pick up the meals.

Chattanooga is on EASTERN TIME.

It will also be cold here in the morning for rehearsal at 8:45. Dress warmly! Bring your band hat.

Report back to the band room at 12:30. We will leave at 1:00. We hope to be back in Madison around 10:30. And fortunately for us we get to turn the clocks back an hour.

Lastly, make sure your uniform, shoes, shoelaces, gloves are clean! There will be field judges at this competition.

In my rush to get to the game last night, I forgot to attach the pecan order form. So here it is! Our pecans are so popular, that people in Madison are still asking for them.
