Hi all,

In preparation for the first week of school, I’d like to clarify the schedule.

-Competition band will rehearse tomorrow, Tuesday, afternoon 3:45-5:30pm.
-Football band will rehearse Thursday afternoon 3:45-5:30pm.

Students should be prepared to go outside during class time as well. Bring your water jug and wear your section shorts to every rehearsal, during class or after school.

After this week, we’ll resume the regular practice schedule:

Monday 3:45-5:30pm Competition Band
Tuesday 3:45-5:30pm Competition Band
Thursday 3:45-5:30pm Football Band (As the season progresses, football show rehearsals will be shorter and competition band will rehearse for the remainder of Thursday rehearsals)

*Guard and Dance team schedules might differ from the above. Coach Robertson and Brooke will communicate these.

Please remember to attend the first band booster meeting, Thursday August 14 at 7pm. More details will be given regarding scheduling, uniforms, policies, etc. at this meeting. You do not want to miss it!

Help is needed to clean the concession stand to have it ready for the season. Our first game is August 22 and it is time to get everything ready.

Clean up dates and times are August 11 and 12 at 2:00-3:00. Come one day. Come both days. Your help is needed and we could use it.

Stevi B’s Pizza Madison Alabama is hosting a spirit day and night to support our band! Join us Tuesday, July 29th for lunch, dinner or time in the afternoon to enjoy some games, refreshment and time with friends. Donate your receipt and Stevie B’s will donate 10% to the band from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.! That’s 10% of everything you purchase at the food line, including tokens for games!

Many students have not turned in their Out of County Overnight Field Trip Form.

This form is required for your student to participate in the band program.

If your student has not turned in this form, please fill out the attached form, have it notarized, and return it to the band room box by Friday July 25.

Friday Exhibition Show:

Friday will be a regular schedule except that the kids will stay past 4:00. At 4:30 they will be ready to show off everything they have learned. Spectators will be able to sit on the sidewalk or hill to watch the show. This is a busy time of day so please do not cross Eastview Dr., but use the tunnel and sidewalk to get to the band field.

After the show Schwann’s will be there to provide FREE frozen treats to the students and spectators!

Thank you to all who have helped make band camp a productive and successful event. We could not do it without the help of parents.
