Dear Parents and Students,

Didn’t the band look great tonight? I hope you got to see them.

I also just realized that I have not mentioned anything about last weekend. Our band was awesome – both nights! Congratulations!

Many thanks to the many chaperones, equipment help and truck drivers. Some were there both nights. I am still sleepy. We could not have done it without you!

Because of fall break, we will move our Band Booster meeting to Thursday, October 2 at 7:00 in the band room. The highlights will be information on the Stadium Event on October 21st and pecan sales. Hope to see you there!

Mom comment of the night: the kids do not have to wear jerseys to school tomorrow.

Just a few reminders for this week:

– NO JAZZ BAND TODAY!
-Rehearsal for homecoming is tomorrow (THURSDAY) afternoon from 3:45-4:15pm (the less talking there is, the shorter it will be).
– Jerseys and jeans for the parade.
– Be ready to go in dirt cheap parking lot at 4:50pm for line-up (YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING YOURSELF THERE- WE WILL NOT TAKE BUSES TO THE PARADE).
– The parade will end at the stadium so you can be picked up from there.
– Regular game schedule for Friday.

Stuff from John:

– Please watch these two clips. We have been talking a lot about playing in tune and how that affects how loud we appear to be. Once we can achieve good intonation, then we will most certainly achieve appropriate volume levels, both in the competition show and the football show.

Hello Everyone!

There are some changes on the calendar. You can see it on the BJHS Band website or on CHARMS.

There will be rehearsal on Thursday 3:45-4:15.

Report to parade rally point in the Dirt Cheap parking lot on the corner of Madison Blvd and Celtic Dr. at 4:50 for the homecoming parade.

There will NOT be rehearsals on Mon-Thur, October 6-9th of fall break.

There will be rehearsal on Friday (October 10th) afternoon. 2-3pm. Then report to the band room at 5:00 as usual for a home game.

Hello Everyone!

I hope that you have recovered from the busy but such a wonderful weekend! It is time to look at the week ahead.

Volunteer Opportunities:

There are 8 open slots for this Friday in concessions. This will be a busy game and it is important that we have all of the slots filled.

There are 3 openings for chaperones for this Friday as well.

We are about halfway through the season. If you have not volunteered, please take this opportunity to look at the calendar and find a time to volunteer.

We need three people to walk with the band during the Homecoming Parade on Thursday. If you can do this, please email Cindy (replay to this email) and let me know.

Double Spirit Night on Tuesday, September 23. Kinnucan’s and Zen Beri 6:00-9:00.

If you did not get a chance to pay for the box lunch from Jimmy John’s on Friday, it is not too late. Please turn your money into the band box.

One more thing that I forgot about earlier……

Many of you asked about the location of the game tomorrow. It is at Gadsden City High School.

The competition Saturday is at Hendersonville High School. Make sure you see Ms. Thomas’ notes about I-65 being closed outside of Nashville. There is a detour that should not add too much time to the trip. There is also constructions at the school.

You can Google or use your GPS to get directions.

I hope that you can be there to support us on the road!
