Color Guard

The Bob Jones Fall Color Guard consists of the Football Color Guard and the Competition Color Guard.

The football guard performs with the marching band at all home football games and any away games to which the full marching band travels, as well as parades, pep rallies, and any other football band full performances.  All members of the football guard spin flag, but members can also audition for the weapons line that also spin rifle and sabre.  Members must attend rookie camp at the end of the school year, two weeks of band camp at the end of summer, will be part of a daily band class during fall semester, and must attend after school rehearsals.

The competition guard is a subset of the football guard.  The competition guard performs with the competition band at around 3-5 Saturday competitions during fall semester.  Competitions typically are in Alabama or Tennessee.  Members will spin flag, dance, and can audition for the weapons line to spin rifle and sabre.  This ensemble will attend all the above camps and rehearsals as well as additional after school rehearsals, a few Saturday rehearsals during the Fall and Saturday competitions.

Members of the color guard are chosen by audition in the Spring. Experience is not required for auditions, and basic skills will be taught to prospective new members during the audition clinic during the week of auditions.
