Make sure your uniforms are clean after last week’s game. Uniforms will be worn for the parade on 12/13 and then be turned in on Monday, 12/15.

Preorder your DVD of March on Madison – $5. You can put your money in an envelope with your name into the band box. Deadline for orders is Tuesday, 11/25 (day before Thanksgiving break).

There are so many pieces that come together every Friday and Saturday that make our band successful. Everyone who has volunteered whether it was selling a hotdog as a Hot Mobile Sales Associate, making pretzels, carrying coolers, loading the trucks, chaperoning, pluming or depluming, your help has been invaluable. And it has made my job easier. Thank you!

Hello Everyone!

Our Booster meeting is Thursday at 7:00 in the band room. For your reading pleasure the minutes and treasurer’s reports from Sept and Oct are attached.

We will celebrate our volunteers and have cake and coffee at the meeting.

Spirit wear will be for sale!

Pete Shea recorded the entire March on Madison event. We will have copies made and available for purchase. The DVDs are $5. You can order your DVD tomorrow night as well.

As I said yesterday, we still have a lot to do before the end of the semester. We will not have a booster meeting in December.

Dear Parents,

The Madison City School Board is now requiring all volunteers in contact with students to have a background check. This is required for all chaperones, equipment crew, photographers, and any others that are in contact with the students. The band is required to check and make sure all volunteers have completed this background check. Please follow the instructions below to complete your background check and submit your approved background check to the band.

To complete the background check: Please go to our BJHS Band website, bjhsband.com, and click on the “Background Check” button in the center of the page. There is a cost of $14.95. It is an easy process and it only takes a few minutes to complete. You will receive your card in the mail after your background check is complete.

When you do receive your approval: Please take a picture, or scan, of the front of your card and send it to:

Because this is not an instant check, please continue to use the Lobby Guard check in the lobby of the school until you receive your background check approval. You can bring the sticker to the band room and place it in the band box.

Dear Parents and Students,

Yes, marching season is over, but there is still a lot to do!

Our November Booster meeting will be this Thursday, the 13th, at 7:00 in the band room. We are very thankful for all of you who have volunteered during the past few months of marching season. We would like to take the time to thank and honor all of those who have given of their time to make our band program successful. We will be having cake and coffee after the meeting.

New spirit wear will be available for sale at the Booster meeting.

And wait, there’s more!……We will be taking preorders for a DVD of March on Madison. They are $5.

On December 12th we have the opportunity to play the National Anthem and stand tunes at the Huntsville Havoc game. Before we commit to this we need to make sure that we will have a good representation. It is not mandatory but we cannot go if only tubas and piccolos show up. Mr. Thornton or Ms. Thomas will be asking the students if they are interested and to sign up. Students and parents are responsible for getting to and from the VBC with their instruments.

The deadline for ordering pictures is THIS FRIDAY.

The Bob Jones Band pictures are now online for viewing. Please go to the web address listed below and all Dance Team, Band and Color Guard pictures can be viewed.
